Home Prices Increase in the 3rd Quarter

The S&P/Case Shiller Index measures housing values in 20 metropolitan areas in the US and is the leading measure for US residential real estate prices.

In September 2013, the index showed and increase of 0.7% from August and a 13.3% rise from the previous year.  This represents that fastest rise since February 2006.

The chart below shows the changes for the 20 Metropolitan Areas.
